Major Residential Opportunity Unveiled For Inverness

1 February 2011

The launch of a substantial residential site in Inverness which should find favour with many developers.

We have launched, along with joint agents Graham & Sibbald and DTZ, a substantial residential site in Inverness which should find favour with many developers.

Ness Castle, on the western periphery of the city, has been many years in the planning and is regarded as one of the city’s most attractive locations, comprising an unspoiled parkland setting with first class access links to both town and country.

With planning permission in place for major residential development over the next decade, the landowners are launching the initial phase comprising 276 private units in four lots.

Affordable housing obligations are being addressed by separate disposals to Albyn Housing Association Society, albeit there is opportunity for developers to incorporate a design and build contract for the Housing Association as part of their on site development.

Calum Innes, a Partner at CKD Galbraith, said: “We have been involved in this project from the inception and it has taken many years to arrive at the point where we can offer substantial serviced land packages to the residential development market.

“Whilst conditions in the market remain challenging, myself along with joint agents Jim Robb of Graham + Sibbald and John Brown of DTZ are firmly of the view that Ness Castle provides an unsurpassed opportunity to deliver housing in a mature parkland setting which will offer enormous amenity to the new residents.”

The development packages are being offered on the basis that the sites will be fully serviced, to the boundary of each lot, with the landowners providing distributor road infrastructure together with all ancillary utilities and service infrastructure to enable the planned development.
