Service: Due diligence and follow up defects monitoring
CKD Galbraith carried out full due diligence for an investment acquisition including a building survey.
Our inspection and review revealed numerous building defects from the original construction, all of which were still covered by the developer’s defects liability, with the added benefit of the building being fully let to a single tenant on FRI terms. A retention from the purchase price was agreed as a result.
Over the following two years, the Building Surveying team, led by Peter Scott Aiton, have been monitoring the rectification of the defects and negotiating with the original design team and contractor to ensure remedial work was carried out satisfactorily.
