A right Royal selection of farms on Show

This week we'll be out in force at the Royal Highland Show - Scotland's annual celebration of farming and the countryside - held at Ingliston, Edinburgh from Thursday to Sunday (18-21 June 2015.) To mark the show we take a whistle-stop tour to feature just a few of the farms we are currently offering for sale.

Beginning just half an hour from the centre of Edinburgh, we find Westloch Farm in the beautiful Borders countryside. Extending to around 2500 acres, Westloch is a first class livestock farm currently stocked with 1600 ewes and 50 suckler cows and calves.

Priced at offers over 3,000,000 for the whole or alternatively for sale in two smaller lots, Westloch Farm is available through our Edinburgh office. Lot 2 (North Westloch) has outstanding potential as a forestry investment for someone wishing to plant trees.

Staying in Peebleshire, Ladyurd Farm is an attractive and versatile livestock farm extending to about 553.12 acres in total including ploughable land, grazing and woodland. Ladyurd Farm is for sale with our Galashiels office priced at offers over 1,500,000.

Further north and new to the market this week is Blackpark Farm, an outstanding mixed agricultural unit close to Inverness. Extending to about 114.59 acres, Blackpark is currently used mainly for growing cereal and rearing livestock but the farm presents good opportunities to diversify.

Available as a whole or in four separate lots, Blackpark Farm is for sale with our Inverness office with the whole priced at offers over 870,000.

To Aberdeenshire now where several farms have just come to the market. Little Gight is a commercial farm with mainly south facing land capable of producing a wide range of Spring and Winter cereals and potatoes.

For the more sporting there is an abundance of game on the farm and brown trout rights on the River Ythan and salmon rights on the Little water are also included in the sale. For sale as a whole priced at offers over 1,500,000 or in seven lots, Little Gight is for sale with CKD Galbraith Aberdeen.

To the west of Stonehaven is the land At Middle Toucks. This highly productive block of land extends to around 91.28 acres and is for sale priced at offers over 435,000. It is also available in two separate lots again through our Aberdeen office.

Also on the market in Aberdeenshire is Blelack Farm. Home to the world renowned Blelack herds of Aberdeen Angus, Charolais and Shorthorn cattle, the Massie Family has decided that the time is right to move on after almost fifty years on the famous farm. Serial champions in the Aberdeen Angus section at the Stirling (and before that the Perth) Bull Sales, Blelack bloodlines can be found in most of the leading commercial herds in the UK.

Described by United Auctions Chairman David Leggat as "a unique opportunity for anyone wishing to enter the pedigree cattle breeding business at the highest level", Blelack Farm is for sale with our National Farm Sales Centre priced at offers over 2,200,000.

Near Dunfermline in Fife, we fine the land at Dales & Sunnybank. Cereals, oilseed rape and potatoes have all been grown on this highly productive land in recent years but it is also capable of growing fruit and vegetable crops and development opportunities exist (subject to the necessary planning consents being obtained.) For sale as a whole or in six lots, the land at Dales & Sunnybank is available through the National Farm Sales Centre.

Finally for now, the lands At Foot O'Green Farm offers three blocks of productive arable and grazing land near Stirling with excellent access from public roads.  All in all about 94.74 acres, it is also for sale with our National Farm Sales Centre at offers over 400,00 for the whole. The lands At Foot O'Green Farm are also available in three separate lots.
