As a Commercial Graduate Surveyor my days can be quite varied, no two days are the same as something will always pop up unexpectedly. It is this varied and fast-paced nature of the job which I enjoy the most. I also particularly enjoy the relationship you build with both your colleagues and clients. When I am in the office I will be answering enquiries for properties we are marketing, drafting valuation and marketing reports and catching up with paperwork. When I am out the office I can be conducting a viewing, measuring and photographing properties for valuation reports or inspecting the property for a marketing report.

I typically start my day by responding to emails and checking our property database and responding to enquiries. I will usually then have a quick catch up with my line manager, Harry Stott, to discuss what priorities we have for the day. This might include drafting a valuation report or marketing report, launching new properties on our website or calculating measurements from a recent inspection. In the afternoon, I tend to continue with the mornings work or go out for a site visit.

The best thing about being a Graduate Commercial Surveyor is the varied workload which keeps you engaged and always learning. The team at Galbraith have been very welcoming and have made the transition from education to working life much easier and are very supportive through my studies to my APC.

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, socialising with friends, going out for food and taking the dog for nice long walks along the beach!
